Old Roseville is filled with cute shops, and some cool restaurants. We hadn't tried The Place yet, and decided to grab some food to go. We had perused the menu before walking in, and decided to order some sandwiches and dessert. We found out that they no longer offer sandwiches! Even the wait staff was bummed that sandwiches aren't on the menu! We opted for two calzones to go. I opted out of ordering dessert, because it's crazy to pay $12.00 for one small cannoli. The meatball calzone and the sweet pig were boxed up for us, with added marinara sauce and the fig jam on the side. What's lacking- intense meat flavors and sauce. We found both calzones needed more sauce cooked into the mixture. Both calzones needed a lot more meat, especially for the price point. I'll also add that more cheese would have helped as well. What's tasty- the dough is house made. It's fluffy, and baked perfectly. I'd kick it up a notch, and add garlic or some tasty seasoning to the dough. It would help! The staff is really kind, helpful, and they made me feel welcomed. The Place is definitely "neighborhood ", which makes it endearing. The price point is pretty high for what's being served ($60.00 for the two calzones).

We went here to celebrate a birthday and "The Place" was a hit with all! It was a busy night but the staff were attentive, the food and drinks came out in the perfect cadence for a nice relaxing meal together and everything was a winner! Everything was great but the Braised Short Rib was so tender and rich, it was the favorite. We will definitely be back!

Having lived by this place for a couple of years, walked by it a few dozen times and driven by it a few hundred, if not thousands of times, I finally went in for it. The place is pretty small with not a whole ton of space. But, has this family, cozy, warm in your stomach feel to it. The service is amazing! Fast, attentive, patient and very helpful. The food is by far some of the best Italian I've had in a long, long time. Everything was fresh, hot out of the oven, fulfilling and very satisfying. With a lot of places having become so commercialized, it is refreshing to find a spot where you feel welcomed, looking forward to and planning out your next visit or two... if you haven't been here, you're missing out for sure and definitely need to prioritize yourself, if you crave something delicious and heartwarming. Until next time!

My go to place for pasta in the Roseville area. The staff here always makes me feel welcome. As soon as I walk in, they give me a hug and pour me a glass of red. Randy makes the most amazing drinks! Anything you order tastes like it's makes with love and so fresh! Please do yourself a favor and come in and let them know Jess sent you!

Ambiance, service, food was excellent. only thing I would say is have the music volume down a little so customers could enjoy the evening visiting with each other. Otherwise we all enjoyed the evening.

The Place is always busy so making a reservation would be highly recommended! It's been a while since my last visit and I had forgotten how loud the place can be. The volume of the live entertainment seemed to have heightened. The food however made up for the boisterous ambiance. Everything we had was very good! The complimentary bread and dip (so flavorful and good), bruschetta was fresh and refreshing, our entrees... the clams e linguine and dad's carbonara were delicious. We topped off dinner with the tiramisu. It was unique with three whoopie pie layers soaked in coffee sauce. I've always enjoyed the amaretto sour at the place. Funny how hubby ordered a Prosecco and they gave him a mini bottle of La Marca. Thought that was a bit unusual.

Disclaimer: In February of 2024, As a birthday surprise my father took me to The Place located in the Historic Vernon Street District in Roseville, California. Please excuse the delayed review. The Place is the place for authentic Italian food in Roseville. For my birthday meal I had the veal accompanied by a salad. To drink I had a sparkling Italian soda and plenty of water. As for a dessert I had gelato with decaf americano. Everything appeared fresh and tasted quite delightful. This establishment is definitely a family, date, and /or friends night establishment with tables placed in about every corner. Highly recommend that you make a reservations. It appears there is a bar area however have been told by locals in Roseville the bar is used mostly during the week and The Place is more used for open table seating. While the dress code is casual for the restaurant. However I enjoy dressing up for an establishment such as The Place. Service was superb. The waitress ensured every dish came out on time and that our drinks especially the water received a refill upon request. Overall If you have a special occasion, a date night, friends evening, ect. The Place is the place. Look forward to the next to visit either with friends and/or family. However I am curious to further explore the use of the small bar area as a solo individual at The Place. Yet I have taken note The Place also owns Daniello and heard that caters to groups to individuals such as the solo reviewer. As the solo review I would like to explore both options.

Went there on Friday night with my friend. I called earlier to make reservations for two. I showed up a bit early and the place was already full. I waited for couple of minutes and then I was seated. Our server Teresa was amazing! It was my first time there and the place looked cozy and cute! We were served with the complimentary bread and oil/balsamic. For starters we got the Garlic bread and the garlic parmesan polenta. They were good but very salty! We also got the Bruschetta which was divine! For the Entree we got the Tagliatelle Bolognese (I had chicken on it instead of the meatballs) and the Maccheroni e formaggio: they were delicious! There was a singer playing and the vibe was beautiful! The Place is lovely and loud in a good way!
